Big Buddha is being built on one of Phuket’s highest mountains. Since construction began over two years ago, the end is in sight. It stands 45 m high, and is a “must see” for Phuket visitors. The Buddha is basically completed, just the grounds and facade need to be finished.

Hire a scooter, and make a trip up to this magnificent construction. Give a little, and leave a tile with your personal message on it, that will become an integral part of the site. Ample photo opportunities. Note that conservative clothing is appreciated at any temple.

During the descent of the mountain, stop for a drink at one of the restaurants overlooking Kata and Karon. You will be able to see some of the beaches on the west coast.
